Role Description The Tax Accountant role is a full-time, on-site position based in Georgetown, ON. The Tax Accountant will be responsible for preparing and reviewing tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, provincial, and local tax regulations for multiple divisions within Kuthala Group. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing financial statements, identifying tax-saving opportunities, maintaining accurate tax records, and supporting tax audits as needed. The role also involves collaborating with internal accounting and finance teams, staying current with changes in tax laws, and providing guidance on tax implications of business decisions. The Tax Accountant will contribute to process improvements and help maintain strong internal controls around tax reporting.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong tax-focused skills, including Tax, Tax Compliance, and Tax Preparation.
- Candidates should possess solid financial reporting skills, including experience with Financial Statements and Accounting.
- Relevant academic background such as a degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional designation (e.g., CPA or equivalent) or progress toward one is an asset.
- Proficiency with tax and accounting software, and strong MS Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities, with attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in an on-site team environment.
- Experience in multi-entity or multi-industry environments is an advantage.
