Position Overview
As our Freelance Product Developer, you will work closely with the Bardown team to identify opportunities, develop innovative products, source manufacturing partners, and oversee the product development journey from concept to market. This role is perfect for a self-starter with experience in teamwear, sporting goods, or apparel development who can spot emerging trends, understand customer needs, and transform ideas into successful products.
Responsibilities
- Research market trends and develop new product concepts aligned with Bardown's brand and business objectives.
- Create detailed product specifications, briefs, and development timelines.
- Source and liaise with suppliers, manufacturers, and vendors.
- Coordinate sampling, testing, and product refinement.
- Monitor product quality, costs, and production schedules.
- Ensure products meet regulatory and compliance requirements where applicable.
- Work collaboratively with marketing and operations teams to support successful product launches.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in product development, product management, or a related field.
- Experience sourcing products and working with manufacturers.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to balance creativity with commercial viability.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in teamwear, apparel, sporting goods, or consumer product development is considered a strong asset.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a freelance environment.
