Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer, Spread Products (Financing & Securitization) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Java, Python, Spring Boot, Microservices, CI/CD, and container orchestration and a proven ability to deliver production-grade solutions for trading, risk, and operations use cases while owning discovery through production readiness.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact embedded with client teams to gather requirements and define delivery plans.
- Prototype and deliver production-ready applications in Java or Python to solve trading, risk, and operational problems.
- Translate ambiguous business asks into clear technical specifications and sequencing.
- Architect and build scalable, resilient services using Spring Boot, REST/gRPC, and microservices patterns.
- Leverage Python frameworks for APIs, analytics, and automation as appropriate.
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD with Tekton/OpenShift Pipelines and Jenkins.
- Deploy and operate containerized workloads on OpenShift/Kubernetes with best practices for reliability and security.
- Model data and optimize queries across Oracle Database, MS SQL Server, and MongoDB.
- Ensure enterprise-grade security, auditability, and compliance throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Produce documentation and communicate architecture decisions to technical and business stakeholders.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Expertise in Java (Core Java, Java 17+, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST/gRPC) and production experience in Python 3.x.
- Hands-on with Python frameworks such as FastAPI or Flask/Django, and data libraries like Pandas/NumPy.
- CI/CD with Tekton (Red Hat OpenShift Pipelines) and Jenkins.
- Containers and orchestration using Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
- Database expertise with Oracle Database, Microsoft SQL Server, and MongoDB, including performance tuning and schema design.
- API and integration experience with REST and messaging/streaming platforms such as Kafka or similar.
- Security-first mindset with secure coding practices and auditability for financial data.
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience in full-stack or backend roles with customer-facing delivery exposure.
Preferred Skills:
- Monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, and ELK/Splunk.
- Event-driven architectures and streaming design patterns.
- Python-based analytics and quant tooling including Jupyter and scikit-learn.
- Scripting and automation that combine Java and Python within one pipeline.
Domain knowledge in Fintech, Capital Markets, or Securitization (ABS, MBS)
