Randstad, the world’s leading partner for talent, is expanding its Specialised Engineering Division in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). We are seeking a high-performing Staffing Consultant who brings a dual focus: driving commercial growth through new business development and sourcing top-tier engineering talent across the GTA’s thriving industrial and technical sectors.
In this role, you will act as a strategic advisor to engineering clients, identifying business opportunities, negotiating contracts, and matching highly skilled technical professionals with leading organizations.
What You Get to Do
Business Development & Account Management
- Drive Personal Sales: Lead new business development efforts, focusing on client acquisition, key account growth, and revenue expansion across the GTA engineering market.
- Prospect & Network: Conduct strategic market research, map out prospective GTA engineering clients, and execute targeted cold outreach to book initial client meetings.
- Conduct Client Visits: Visit prospective and existing clients on-site to build deep relationships, understand their technical hiring needs, and assess project scopes.
- Manage Contracts & RFPs: Prepare, present, negotiate, and finalize contracts, service agreements, proposals, and RFP responses.
- Expand Client Relationships: Maintain consistent contact with existing accounts to deliver high-level customer service, anticipate future hiring demands, and identify cross-selling opportunities.
Engineering Recruitment & Candidate Management
- Build Talent Pipelines: Proactively recruit, network with, and curate a strong pipeline of specialized engineering professionals (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Process, Structural, and Automation engineers/designers).
- Candidate Advisory: Provide career guidance, market insights, and ongoing support to candidate networks to foster long-term loyalty and engagement.
- End-to-End Recruitment Lifecycle: Match technical candidate skill sets with client requirements, manage the interview and offer process, and consistently meet/exceed monthly sales and placement targets.
Internal Synergy & Continuous Improvement
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with internal Randstad sales teams and company leadership to share market intelligence, review performance targets, and optimize delivery.
- Innovate Recruitment Strategies: Develop and implement modern sourcing techniques and workflow improvements tailored to the competitive GTA engineering talent landscape.
What You Need to Bring
- Sales & Recruitment Track Record: Proven background in full-cycle recruitment, B2B sales, client relationship management, or customer-facing business development (experience in engineering, technical staffing, or industrial sales is a strong asset).
- Cold Calling & Prospecting: Demonstrated confidence and skill in cold outreach, pipeline generation, and securing initial sales meetings with decision-makers.
- Strategic & Analytical Mindset: Strong negotiation capabilities, time management, organizational skills, and market awareness.
- Mobility & Hybrid Availability: Ability to work in-office at least 2 days a week in the GTA and travel locally to client sites where public transit may not be accessible (valid driver’s license and vehicle recommended).
