Billyard Insurance Group (BIG) is one of Canada’s Top Growing Companies and a winner of the IBC Digital Innovation Award. We have more than 80 locations across Canada and a culture built on our core values: Think BIG, Act with Integrity, Client First Always, Achieve More Together, and Innovate with Purpose.
Our Mississauga West office is looking for a Sales Broker who loves the hunt: someone who creates their own opportunities, enjoys the chase, and gets a real thrill from closing the deal. The office runs on a strong performance culture where brokers push each other, share what works, and celebrate each other’s wins. A dedicated service team handles policy administration, so your time goes to prospecting, selling, and building relationships. If you’re a driven, self-starting insurance professional who wants to be rewarded for every client you bring in, this is your opportunity.
What does the Sales Broker do?
You’ll Build Your Own Book From The Ground Up By Finding Prospects, Starting Conversations, And Turning Them Into Loyal Clients. Here’s What That Looks Like
- Hunt for new business: Generate your own leads through cold outreach, networking, referral partnerships, social media, and local community and business events.
- Build and work your pipeline: Prospect every day, follow up persistently, and keep your pipeline full and moving.
- Develop referral sources: Build relationships with centres of influence such as realtors, mortgage brokers, dealerships, and local business owners, so new opportunities keep coming to you.
- Uncover client needs: Run sharp, consultative conversations with individuals and businesses to understand their risks, goals, and budget.
- Deliver competitive quotes: Use comparative rating tools and insurer portals to present smart, accurate options for personal and commercial lines.
- Negotiate with confidence: Work with underwriters and insurers to secure the best balance of coverage and pricing.
- Own the close: Handle objections, ask for the business, and close. Then hand off cleanly to our service team, who manage documentation and policy administration.
- Grow every relationship: Spot cross-sell and upsell opportunities, ask for referrals, and stay the client’s trusted advisor while the service team keeps their policies running smoothly.
- Stay sharp and compliant: Keep a strong command of insurer products, underwriting guidelines, compliance protocols, and RIBO standards, and submit complete, accurate applications to minimize E&O exposure.
- Raise the bar together: Share what’s working, compete in a healthy way, and help drive the Mississauga West team’s results.
